For healthy growth, hair needs the following nutrients; Silica, Calcium, Iron, Selenium, Vitamin C, and L-Lysine. I've noticed, when I increased my Calcium, Lysine and Vitamin C, my hair began to grow. However, the growth was slow, until I concentrated on my Silica, Selenium intake.
Try eating natural foods, in lieu of supplements. Such as cucumber and oatmeal for Silica. Red and Green Peppers (also Vitamin C), and Spinach for Calcium. Brazil nuts, Sunflower seeds and Tuna for Selenium. Humus for Iron and Walnuts for L-Lysine. Vitamin C, can also be increased by Orange juice (drink squeezed juice in lieu of concentrate), oranges, tangerines, etc.
I myself, usually eat cucumbers daily. If I run out, I supplement with oats of some kind. I eat some type of green food daily. For your salad dressing, which has L-Lysine, use "Braggs Liquid Aminos". I eat fruit, and yogurt, sprinkled with flax seed meal every morning. I eat one brazil nut a day (3.8 grams of fat and plenty of selenium). I eat tuna as well, but not daily, and only when I have an appetite for tuna. I do supplement myself with a L-Lysine tablet.
My hair is really growing back. I really think Silica, Calcium, Iron and Selenium is the key.
